Intensives

Dancing Hawk means to reach people through weeklong intensives. They are courses in simple or primitive living, followed by some time to venture out and go for it, putting all the preparation to the test. Intensive classes are sculpted towards the interests of the students as well.

Accommodations and food are simple. Our sites are all different, but everywhere, students camp simply. There are no modern facilities, and no electricity. There will be a source of water, as well as plenty of firewood to collect sustainably. Grocery stops are made as needed.

You will probably need:
Camping gear - Tent, Warm sleeping bag
Sharp sheath knife
Pots and Pans
Winter clothing - Non synthetics are better
(It is COLD living outside in the Northwest)
Wool Blanket
Notebook and pencil

Hunter-Gatherer Intensive
Our great ancestors lived lives of relative ease and comfort, working only for what they needed, always in balance with the land. In the hunter-gatherer intensive, you will learn how to conquer the seemingly difficult aspects of shelter, fire and food with ease. We will cook over an open fire, gather berries and fish, keep the rain away, and stay warm and peaceful.

There are potentially other intensives we can hold, please ask us about anything you might be interested in.
